Product:
EDIUS

Feature:
Fullscreen video (timeline) playback on secondary monitor.

Description:
Add fullscreen video (timeline) playback on a second monitor without depending on the the graphics card's "overlay zoom"

Original description:
If you have a second 30" Inch display connected via DVI on your monitor, it'd be nice to have a feature to play back Edius (in software mode, for example) on that monitor.

I would like to see that feature making it possible to play the timeline back to a secondary computer monitor in fullscreen mode without having to activate this feature in my grafix card...
Especially with HDV footage this would be a nice feature...

I give this a 10. However I think its even more important on the PRIMARY MONITOR.
(most edit programs can be set to show on a secondary - Vegas, for example)

IE: If Im editing on a laptop, there is no second monitor. I want to be able to instantly get full screen (or close to it) playback.

Any run of the mill editing program can play tiny images in small windows you have to squint at, but the beauty of EDIUS is full speed playback BIG.

The way that it should be is for Edius to find out what monitor you want to play it back at full screen. If you're on a laptop and you connect an HDTV via DVI for example, it should sense it and find that monitor is available for full screen playback.

This is the way FCP works and it's beautiful...except that Edius offers much more realtime of course.

HD footage looks beautiful when you use an LCD for playback, but if it's SD it's not as pleasing as HD to the eye.
