windows media error

ProCoder Express v1.12

Windows Media source reader internal error.

My ProCoder express was working OK (Windows XP Pro Sp2, Pentium 4, 1GB RAM, etc) until I upgraded from v1.0 to v1.12. Now I get the above error when I select an .asf or .wmv file as the source.

Can anyone suggest a fix for this please?

What version of Windows Media Player do you have on the PC?

I have tried WMP v10 and 11. The only way I can get it working again is by reverting to the old v1.0 PCE software.

HAve you tried going to Windows Update and done a Custom scan to see what updates may be available for your system? There are alot of components involved, from Windows Media and various runtime frameworks to DirectX and video drivers.
