Hi there,

Motherboards chipsets currently support MPEG1/2/4 decoding support.

I'm currently searching for similar ENCODING support.
E.g. mpeg4, H.263, H.264, WMV, etc

To take a difficult case as an example:
- Input WMV (high-ress)
- Output WMV (low-ress, say 1 Mbit/sec)

Can for instance this be hardware encoded via:
- Procoder (with WMEncoder SDK...?)
- Firecoder

Or should I look more for solutions like Digital Rapid, etc?

I would appreciate to hear any thoughts/ideas/insight from you guys..

Kind Regards,

Roderick

With the exception of some MPEG-1, MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 encoding hardware boards, all of our products are CPU-based software encoders for the formats you listed.

FireCoder only supports hardware-based encoding (onboard chip) of MPEG-2, and MPEG-4.

SD only with FireCoder :)

Also MPEG4 (H263) is pretty old tech, so....going the software route and a faster computer is a much better idea.
