Product:
EDIUS

Feature:
Arrange clips in the Bin as desired (without sorting) in a grid.

Description:
The ability to arrange and move clips around in the bin as you desire. Now they ripple and snap into place next to the previous clip. Like a ripple insert of a timeline. The option to keep empty spaces between clips would be really nice. Such as squares that can have a video clip present or not in its location. Empty squares (spaces) between clips are used to organize and buffer various groups of clips.

Example.... I capture 100 clips from an event on a tape. I wish to group clip-1, clip-56, clip-45, clip-32, clip-14, clip-87 etc, together next to each other in the bin, because they are the same subject matter. Now I can leave a few spaces in between them and the next grouping I wish to put together. Does this make sense? Thanks.

If I adopt Windows icon terminology for a moment here:

Would you like clips in the Bin to also 'Align to Grid' as opposed to only 'Auto Arrange' ?

Yes that is probably the best terminology 'Align to Grid' in a scrollable bin. The clips can be placed into the square grid anywhere in the bin alone or grouped with others. Senario example "I don't like this video clip. I am going to scroll down and put him at the bottom of my bin grid and away from my good clips. This is where I put all my "trash clips" when I don't need them. Does this describe it?
