Product:
EDIUS
Feature:
Allow replacement of clips from the Offline Files dialog even if they don't match.
Allow for keyboard-modifier drag-and-drop replacement of clips in the timeline.
Description:
We need to have the ability to change clips, even if they don't match. The offline/online dialog box needs to be changed.
Also it'd be really nice to drag a drop a clip from the bin on top of another one on the timeline, with some type of keyboard shortcut, and change that clip.

I would also like to see the offline restore feature working like in after effects:
Let's say you have 10 clips that are offline and you have them all in one folder that edius can't find anymore and that folder has just been moved to a different drive: When you open Edius the offline restore dialog would pop up and you would navigate to the moved folder and select one clip of the offline clips and it would automatically restore all the other clips in Edius. This would be a more intelligent way handling offline clips and would save some clicks.

Smartarts...in regard to your scenerio, you can select all of the clips affected in the Restore Clips dialog box. It will then give you only the choice of relinking via the folder (the option of relinking by file is greyed out). Once you click on the new folder, it will relink all of the clips at once. No need to do it individually.

Edius
Feature:
Use/Re-link Clips of Different Durations
Description:
Currently when you have an edit that contains a video clip and you change the duration of that clip outside of Edius, when you re-open the edit in Edius the Missing Clip dialog will be shown for the changed clip. The clip is located in the same place with the same name, but because of the different clip duration it is shown as 'missing' and the re-link dialog will refuse to use the changed clip.
I would like Edius to ignore the difference in the clip length and use the clip in the edit anyway. If the changed clip is shorter or longer than the original version, Edius should place the clip occupying the same space as before on the timeline and not disturb the rest of the timeline. The user will then be required to adjust the clip on the timeline as necessary to accomodate the new length.

A couple of valid features here that I feel need separate posting/vote polling for, not one combined.
I have modified my need level in the poll to balance a low need for one against a high need for the other. So as with others possibly, no a true reflection and indicator given to the developers of what may be needed and the priority level for it.

Ultimately, anything the offers clip data replacement (time, format, location) will all affect the same 'part' of the way EDIUS works. That's why I put them together.
