Any one know whether or not there's a problem inserting my main board into a 16 slot? The manula says either a 4 or 8 but I don't have one available.
HELP!!!! Thanks.

It should be ok to do this...but do you happen to have a make/model of motherboard in mind?

Yes, it's an Asus P5N32-E SLI motherboard.

Anyone else using the NX PCI-E main card in a x16 slot? Or can anyone verify it works before I power this thing up? Thanks.

For what it's worth, the ASUS P5W D2 Premium has been successfully tested with a NX Express (2 PCIe boards) + PCIe graphics card. Since there's only one x1 slot and two x16 slots, you have to use one of the x16 slots for one of the NX boards.

Yeah, I read that about the P5W D2 but the dealer reccomended the P5N32 because it was an upgrade over the P5W. But same situation, x16 slots but no more x4 or x8's. So it should be okay....
I'll re-post to let everyone know the outcome. Thanks.

Yesterday got my new Edius NX Express and install it in Asus P5B Deluxe- one PCI_Ex1 and one PCI-Ex16 (second used by graphic card ATI X1950 Pro 512mb.
Perfect! The main board in x1 slot.

I don't see why a 1x card wouldn't work in a 16x card. The slot clocks down to 1x if it has a 1x card in there.

UPDATE: It didn't work. I got the blue screen/ hardware failure error.
I'm in the process of moving the cards around and verifying the chipset is compatible. This MB has the Nvidia nforce 680i chipset.

Craig422, please check your BIOS settings. Myne has something about PCI_E slots speed and it is set to AUTO.

To make sure everyone knows, the 1x PCIE card will work in ANY PCIE slot...
1x to 16x.. It doesn't matter at all. I use my NX card in a 16x slot no problems with 2 different motherboards, the p5wd2 prem and the p5wdg2 ws prof.. no problems at all. If your having hardware conflicts could be other cards on the PCI's that are causing it but a little troubleshooing and swaping around should fix it :)

Mike,
Are you blocking any sata ports with that motherboard? It looks like the NX main board would cover the available sata inputs. Thanks.

No. I have 2 HD for RAID0, I SATA for system and software and SATA DVD burner already connected. My board is here:

Franco & Mike,
Thanks for the help but it's still not working. I've emailed tech support to see if it's a chipset issue or just a x16 slot conflict as my video card is also in a x16 and the bios has no option to clock down the slot speed nor set it to auto.
