Using ADVC with the mac built in DVD Player

Hello

Is there a way to use the ADVC with the mac built in DVD Player? Where would i find the video song settings? And is it also possible to use it with the vlc programme that plays avi files?

What is it that you're trying to acheive?

Are you trying to output content from the Mac (DVD player/VLC) to an external television?

exactly - i connect the advc to a sony bravia over the s-video out. - for logic it works perfectly.

You'll need to find an application capable of redirecting the video output to FireWire, and last time I checked, I couldn't find any software DVD players that could do this (possibly due to the questions over potential piracy, and the load of the system having to convert MPEG-2 to DV on the fly).
