storm trouble

my digital input/output is no longer working, forcing me to use my svideo input output.Do I need a new capture board?Acedvideo?What can I do to
regain my DV input?Please help.

If you really dig the Storm and intend to keep using it for a while, you might think about buying one on ebay. I sold mine on ebay a little while back for $175.

You could also just use a generic OHCI card for capture and continue to use the broken Storm for monitoring edits.

Is it broken (physically) or just stopped working? The board has a 3 year warranty, so it is most likely out, but if the port is physically busted it can probably still be repaired fairly easily.

The card works perfectly except for the dv input it just stopped working.
I dont think it is physically damaged.Are you saying If I get the acedvideo
card it will be compatible with storm?

The port pins must be broken.

My stormbay had the same issue, good thing my Storm2 was under warranty so I sent that in and got it fixed by Canopus.

If it's out of warranty, you might want to call Canopus, they might do it for a small fee maybe?

Yep I believe we still fix dv ports on out-of-warranty products for a charge. Contact Tech Support to confirm. (and maybe get the digital camera ready to take a closeup photo...)

I had my Storm 2 Breakout Box DV input fixed by Canopus for $45 and whilst waiting hooked up the firewire diectly to the Storm 2 Card DV Breakout box internal connection. Worked fine.

I ended up switching the jumpers on the card and am now using the
internal DV input/output.Thanks for eveybodys help.
