1) from a other Edius-Forum

Topic: Audio mixer: Track mode’ is broken:

- Place a video on the VA track.
- Open the audio mixer and select ‘Track’ mode for that VA.
- While playing the video, adjust the audio – up and/or down.
- When adjusting it, on my system it sounds like this: mp3
(The clean last 4 seconds are when I let go of the slider)

Version: Edius Broadcast 4.24 (SP hardware)

Symptom: adjustments made using Edius built-in audio mixer cause loud spikes to be output.

Steps to reproduce:
Whilst playing a VA clip on the timeline, adjust the audio level (up or down)using the mixer in "Track" mode.
Similarly, an adjustment of the master level whilst the playhead is stationary will result in a loud thump as soon as playback is resumed.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Have EDIUS v4.0x installed and upgrade to v4.13, and then if you want, upgrade again to a 4.2x version (up to 4.24)

2. Start a new project - it doesn't really matter which preset to use (e.g. SD NTSC 16:9 48khz)

3. From the fresh new timeline, position the edit cursor at 00:00:10:00 (this is important, because placing a clip at 00:00:00:00 will not reproduce the fault)

4. Place any clip with audio at this location

5. Open up the Audio mixer

6. Start playback and adjust the master volume control during playing - the audio will spike

Reports I have is that this issue is fixed from v4.24 onward, but requires a clean installation of EDIUS. Overwriting/upgrading your existing EDIUS v4 installation, will not resolve this issue.

Update: Cleaning out the registry and folders left on the system after an uninstall, may still not be enough to clear the problem. In some cases (including my own), a freshly installed Windows XP system, going from v4.00 to v4.24 will avoid the issue.

The issue is definitely resolved in v4.5.

The issue is definitely resolved in v4.5.Will it still require a fresh install of Windows XP with Edius 4.5? Quite frankly, that would be totally ridiculous and unacceptable.

No, you can upgrade from 4.24 to 4.5 and it will fix the issue - I tested it this morning on my own system.
