Hi, all!

I have DVStorm2 Pro in a Vista 32bit system. All I need to do is capture SVHS to MPEG2. No real-time editing, just plain capture. I installed the MPEGCapture software and it works, but I get a magenta box instead of the preview. If I set the program to non-Aero mode, the preview becomes a green box. I tried different compatibility modes to no avail.

I also installed Edius 1.5 LE that came with the card. It runs in non-Aero mode and a blink of the input source appears in the preview window when I start the capture or close the settings dialog. But after that the preview window turns black. Also, I get the "disk not fast enough error" after several seconds of capture. I am capturing to a RAID 0 with 4 striped SATA disks. The benchmark on it shows 120MB/sec, which is pretty **** fast.

I realize that these old programs aren't supported in Vista. But since I only need the MPEG capture capability, maybe there is a way to make the preview work in either MPEGCapture or Edius 1.5? Or maybe there is a different program/tool that I can try?

As you have no doubt discovered, neither DVStorm hardware nor MPEGCapture/EDIUS 1.5 are supported under Windows Vista. Other than using the hardware/software on a Windows XP system, there is no other solution I can provide.
