I started a project with the preset OHCI HDV 23.98. I now want to change that project into OHCI DV 4:3 59.94. I tried to change it by going to preset settings, but I can't change the framerate to 60 for reasons I'm beginning to understand. Is there a way to create a new project and keep the edits or anything that doesn't require me to basically re-edit this whole thing? Thanks.

Two Questions:

Question one: I followed the youtube specs to upload. It says Mpeg 2 is the best quality over a certain amount of kps. I did so and YouTube says it was unable to convert file. OK - who's successfully uploaded to youtube and what is the exact specifications starting with export/file...from Edius. Idon't really care what you use - AVI MPEG MOV just as long as it goes. I bet I checked just one wrong thing and it killed me. Been trying since Friday. This shouldn't be so hard. Does it have to take 5 hours?

Question two: Can't find that copyright direction. It was in the number pad. Would appreciate knowing what that is again Please.

Thank you.

Hi all. I would appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction so I can figure out what settings to select on my new camcorder, Panasonic HDC-SD700 and Neo 2.5 system. I have seen some posts, but I don't know what key words to enter for a search.

What is happening is that when I play the video clip once importing them into a project it is not smooth. I have imported some AVI clips which are 4:3 ratio in D1. They play perfctly well. I hope to figure out how to make these appear widescreen so the final product is completely widescreen.

Any assistance is most appreciated and once I know where to look I hope to figure out where I am going wrong. Many thanks.

Using Keyframes with Layout and Region in Neo 2.5

I'm working on cleaning up a video I shot of an event in an auditorium with challenging lighting and less than stellar camera pans on my part. It's about 42 minutes long and I'm using Neo 2.5 on a decent i7 desktop with Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit. I'm making good use of key-framing with video layout and regions. With regions I'm adding a video filter to "normalize" the brightness and contrast as the lighting changes and my camera reacted being set for auto exposure. I'll never do that again.

My issue is technique for setting key-frames very close together (like a few video frames) on a 42 minute video. There seems to be no direct way to expand or zoom in on the pop-up key-frame time-line like you can on the main time-line. I can set to view the main time-line in one frame increments if I want, but not so in the pop-up key-frame time-line. So what I've taken to doing is snip or cut the clip just before and just after where I need to have key-frames close together and then select just that short piece of video. Then the pop-up key-frame time-line will be for that length of video - maybe 20 seconds in many cases for what I'm doing. Is this the way to do this? The tightly placed key-frames for video layout and region are not in the same places and so far don't interfere with each other as I snip my way through my 42 minutes of video. Is there a better, more intuitive way to do this?

I would appreciate any useful suggestions on this.

Bye.

I'm considering just doing to NEO 2 but with an educational version of 5 available for just a bit more...

My only real "must" is being able to encode out to H.264. I'm not overly concerned with AVCHD since I only shoot miniDV.

Is the only real difference between 2 and 2 Booster the AVCHD handling ability?

Thanks for the input!

Way back when I used an ADVC 300 and Lets Edit to capture raw video source files. Now I want to use some of those source files in Neo time lines. However for some reason the audio is missing - I get the video, and Neo even seems to display changing Audio levels in the preview window, but no sound is heard.

It seems obvious to me that I need a CODEC - can anyone post a URL link to download one to resolve this problem (and install instructions)?

For reference, I can post my version numbers but I figured it would make this post too lengthy...

Thanks...

I've got a Panasonic TM700 camera which I shoot in 60p (new camera).

I am importing into a 720/60p template.

I am having trouble finding the correct export option (print to file) which is 720/60p.

I am simply trying to export to the best possible format that Windows 7 Media Player will play full screen with stuttering.

I have read that 720/60p is the best option.

I am at this point because I just created a standard DVD with my video and the results looked fuzzy, not sharp at all.

Not sure if it is the conversion or the video itself.

Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks...Alan

I'm currently trialling Edius Neo 2.5 Booster. The software is splendid, but my ageing Core2Duo E6600 PC is not really up to the job. I've just bought a Panasonic TM700 camcorder, and I want to edit comfortably (ie. without the video juddering) and assemble my clips into a watchable result.

Within my budget would be something like an i7 930, perhaps on a Gigabyte X58A mobo, with 6gb of ram. 2 x 1tb drives, a 1gb graphics (nvidia?), maybe a bluray writer. Windows 7 64 of course.

Is anybody using such a system (or similar) with success.? Or maybe it's still not powerful enough ?

Do you finalise onto a bluray disk, or do you use something like a WDTV media player for playback on a HDTV .?

Thanks in advance for all anecdotes.

Best Regards
Basjoe
ps. PCs only please, I don't want to start a Mac vs. PC debate !

Hello,
I've downloaded the demo software for evaluation, and I must say that so far I'm quite impressed, though it has underlined the need for me to upgrade my Core2Duo to one of the newer i7 processors.

My question is : does the demo software have any limitations ? This morning I have tried for the first time to use Export (button on the Recorder). It doesn't seem to do anything, and the option is additionally greyed-out under File/Print/Print to File. Now, it could be that I have not prepared my project in the correct way, or missed out a step - the manual is impressively big !

Thanks in advance for all authoritative replies !

Best Regards
