Default Lossless Video Codec

Hello Folks ............... ( Happy Holidays )

I Need some info from you folks on the best lossless video codec available.

From what I read, DV-AVI is not a lossless codec.

As you can see, we're talking Post-Production.

So which would you recomend that can be used with Premiere Pro CS3
and Edius ? I have read about Huffyuv and Lagarith....

Any other ? What do you think ?

I found this note too:
" more up-to-date fork of Huffyuv is available as Lagarith "

Thanks

Seasons greetings to you to.

Why not try the Canopus Lossless codec......since you have Edius you already have the codec on your system....you can even set it as the render codec for your Edius timeline.

Dave.

After I post the question, then I was thinking about that.
But I need to try, I got a felling I try that before and got audio
but no video on Premiere Pro CS3

I normally use Premiere Pro then when everything is done / finish do the
Encoding with Procoder 3 and create the DVD with Encore

Depents on what I am doing, I have also let Procoder encode & save
the DVD Files to the Hard Drive.

I will try again the Canopus Lossless on Premiere CS3

Thanks

You may need the USB dongle from Edius or Procoder on the box where the codec is to be used.

There are decode-only versions of the Canopus codecs available for download from the support site, but whether you can use them depends on how the application initializes the codec.
