Default Picture Controller can't find ADVC-300 in Windows 7

anybody figure out how to get this to work? It works fine for output but to control capture I want to use picture controller. I've tried all of the various compatibility modes.

Oh yeah, it's win 7 64 bit. thx

.
I'm having the same problem on my Windows 7 pro 64 bit new i7 920 system the ADVC-300 Picture Controler cannot see the unit. If I plug the firewire cable into my dv camera I can capture in premiere so I know it's not the port or cable

I also have my old system using XP and if I use that the ADVC-300 Picture Controler on that system can see it and I can capture from VHS.

I would rather use the new system with nearly 3 TB of empty space not the one on it's last legs

Gee ..... don't tell me after 6 years GV may actually update the ADVC-300 firmware / software ...... I for one do certainly hope so !!!

If Premiere can see a DV camera then it should be able to see the ADVC-300. You don't need the Picture Controller for capturing, only for adjusting the ADVC-300 settings. Of course you can also adjust the settings using the buttons on the ADVC-300. I rarely adjust the settings; in 99% of cases the default settings are fine.

I got it to work by connecting to the integrated 1394 port on my motherboard (ASUS P6T). When connected to a plug in card it wasn't seen by Picture Controller, but now it is.

PC is really important for me to adjust the settings and to just get the ADVC-300 into analog input mode. Using the buttons would be really tedious to try different settings for the seriously bad tapes I capture with it.
