Default ADVC-300 with Media Composer

I am a long time Liquid 7 user who is contemplating a move to Media Composer.

The ADVC-300 via the firewire port is my primary means of capturing video into the computer.

The question is before I spend money on new software does anyone know if the ADVC-300 is compatible with Media Composer?

You shouldn't have any problems.

The DV output from any ADVC converter is identical to what you would get out of any commercially produced DVCAM or miniDV camera or deck: DV25 over FireWire. As long as your editing software accepts DV in this way (and I should hope to god that Media Composer does!) then the ADVC will work. Mac or PC, it uses the OHCI (generic) DV device drivers that are built into your OS.
