Default ADVC-100 Audio skipping on captured Video

I have been using the unit great for a couple of years.
VHS out w/ S_Video to ADVC-100. Firewire to XP.

Old VHS tape: Captured video experiences audio drops outs/skipping.

Captured with Adobe Premiere Elements. Also tried capturing the same tape with Pinnacle & experience the same audio issue.

Original VHS tape plays properly in VCR to TV without any noticeable audio issues.

Is it that the Canopus is overly "sensitive" & magnifies audio imperfections (not detected in the analog realm) by the DV conversion?

A test capture with another VHS tape works with properly, uninterrupted audio.

Thanx in advance for any advice on how to work around issue.
