Default Simultaneous digital and analog output on ADVC 300?

I have a stock of old tapes (Video-8, Hi-8, VHS and S-VHS) that I want to convert to a digital format for editing. I'll probably get the ADVC 300 to do that. I want to make an analog copy simultaneously (S-VHS). So while the ADVC-300 is taking its signal from the S-video input, enhancing it and converting it to DV, is it also outputting that same enhanced picture in analog form on the S-video output or not?

Yes, the ADVC-300 will pass the analog signal through during conversion via the RCA composite, S-video, or D1 Sub (component) analog outputs, so you should have no problem at all doing what you would like.

Page 22 of the manual says:
"The settings specified in the image quality adjustment are applied when the analog data is converted to DV data."
Though it seems that the first part of the answer is technically correct, that the analog input is passed through to the anlog outputs, what the original poster was asking was if the adjusted image goes to the analog outputs, which the manual seems to say it doesn't.

In other words, if a TV is hooked up to the analog outputs, can we see the real time effects of image adjustments, as we do them?

No, it just passes the original signal through.

If you want to see the realtime corrections, you would use the preview window of the ADVC-300 Picture Controller software, which would already be running since that's what you use when you set and adjuest the various correction/enhancement parameters.
